A nationwide poll conducted by ABC News and Ipsos has found that 86% of Americans believe President Joe Biden is too old to serve another term as US President. That figure include 59% of Americans who think both he and Donald Trump are too old.
This poll comes after last week's report by Special Counsel Robert Hur, which stated that whilst Biden "wilfully retained and disclosed classified materials" at his home and private office in Delaware, but recommended he shouldn't face charges due in part to Hur's doubts on Biden's mental fitness.
Biden, at 81-years old, is the oldest President in US history, while Donald Trump, who will be aged 78, at November's election, would become the second oldest President, and would become the oldest if he wins and serves a full-term in office.
73% of Democrats think Biden is too old to serve but only 35% of Republicans think Trump is too old to serve. 91% of independents think Biden is too old to serve, and 71% said the same about Trump.
Concerns over both Biden and Trump's ages have increased since September, when a joint ABC News and Washington Post poll found that 74% of Americans thought Biden was too old to serve a second term, and 49% said the same about Trump.
The poll was based on a nationally representative probability sample of 528 adults age 18 or older.
Trump is currently battling Nikki Haley in the Republican primary's to become the challenger to Biden in November's election, and even after just four states have voted, it's becoming more likely he will win the nomination.
