Donald Trump wins more delegates in his latest victory in the race to be the Republican challenger to Joe Biden in November's presidential elections. Overnight, the former President won all delegates available from Nevada and the Virgin Islands.
As well as winning the maximum four delegates from the Virgin Islands, Trump took all 26 delegates available from Nevada. This comes after Nikki Haley, Trump's challenger, was unable to be on the caucus ballot last night.
Haley opted to field herself in the Nevada primary earlier in the week. However, the Republican party opted to award all their delegates through the official caucus held last night. Rules state that you can't run on the caucus ballot if you have already run on the primary ballot.
It's still unclear why Haley opted to run in the primary vote, knowing she wouldn't gain any delegates from the state. She has vowed to remain in the race.
We're still in the early stages of the race to challenge Biden in November, but Trump has already taken a strong lead, with 45 more delegates from just four contests so far. He also holds 58% of the popular vote after Haley lost in the Nevada primary to 'none of these candidates'.

Haley does hold hope still, as the next primary to run a vote is her home state, South Carolina. In this vote, there are 50 delegates to win, and Haley will be wanting to take a majority of these.
Should she lose in South Carolina, it may see her drop out of the race, and leave Trump to run virtually unopposed.
