The father of two girls who were found dead along with another woman in a house in Norwich was taken to hospital by police just weeks before the killings. Bartlomiej Kuczynski was also found dead at the scene.

Jasmin Kuczynska, 12, Natasha Kuczynska, eight, and Kanticha Sukpengpanao, 36, were all found dead alongside Kuczynski on Friday morning following a 999 call from a concerned neighbour.

It had previously been reported that police had not attended an emergency call from within the house on the morning of the murders of the three women, and it has since come to light that Kuczynski was taken to hospital by police on 14 December, the same day he was reported missing.

He left the unit after hospital staff declared him as having "mental capacity". A spokesperson for the hospital said: "We can confirm that the patient was taken to the emergency department by police on December 14.

"Following a comprehensive clinical assessment, the patient was assessed as having mental capacity and he left the unit before being reviewed again by the team."

Norfolk Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over the case. On Tuesday, the IOPC confirmed Mr Kuczynski called 999 shortly before 6am from inside the house.

He said he was confused and worried about his mental state. He was advised to contact the NHS on the non-emergency line.
