Michelle Mone has confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service has frozen her assets in a "consensual process" that she hopes will help clear her name quicker.
The CPS are investigating the awarding of government PPE contracts during the pandemic that involved firm Medpro.
Mone admitted last month that she lied when she'd previously denied any links to Medpro, which is a consortium that is led by her husband, Doug Barrowman. The company were awarded over £200m in government contracts. Mone's family will benefit from the £60m profits the company has made.
A spokesman for the pair said the asset freeze was part of a "consensual process" which would allow them to "prove their innocence more quickly".
Mone was awarded a peership in 2015, a move which a Tory MP claimed "breached process" in an attack on David Cameron.
